Allow Shop Manager to Send SMS

Grant WooCommerce shop managers permission to send SMS messages.

Grant WooCommerce shop managers permission to send SMS messages using WP SMS.

Requirements

  • User Role Editor plugin (free)
  • WP SMS plugin installed and activated
  • Administrator access

Setup Steps

Step 1: Install User Role Editor

  1. Go to Plugins → Add New
  2. Search for “User Role Editor”
  3. Install and activate the plugin

Step 2: Configure Shop Manager Permissions

  1. Go to Users → User Role Editor
  2. Select Shop Manager from the role dropdown
  3. Search for “sms” in the filter box
  4. Enable the SMS-related capabilities:
    • wpsms_sendsms - Send SMS messages
    • wpsms_setting - Access SMS settings
    • wpsms_subscribers - Manage subscribers
    • wpsms_outbox - View outbox
  5. Click Update to save changes

TIP

Only enable the capabilities that shop managers need. For basic SMS sending, wpsms_sendsms is sufficient.

Result

Shop managers can now access WP SMS functionality based on the permissions you granted, without requiring full administrator privileges.
